I can never live under the same roof with my mom for 10 minutes without having an argument(การทะเลาะโต้แย้ง), (it happens to every mother and daughter around the word - said a guy who was born in a family with zero girl siblings).
So my family decided to drive up North (10 hours journey), we set off a day after we booked the hotel, and the hotel was the only hotel available(ว่าง) at that time.
During the journey, I didn't want to hear my mom and dad complaining(บ่น) about the bad traffic (it's that time of the year when everybody is travelling), so I challenged(ท้าทาย) them, who ever moans about anything pays for the next meal.
My husband and I took turns to drive, I enjoyed sitting in the front 'shotgun' seat (ที่นั่งข้างคนขับ) singing along to my songs on Joox. My parents were doing shift work taking turns napping(งีบหลับ) because they were afraid that I might start going to fast LOL.
We stopped at more than 10 gas stations, for food, toilets, coffee, and to stretch my legs.
I was amazed that neither my mom, dad or me clashed(ทะเลาะ) with each other, that is usually impossible if we are at home, but we did it, zero fights, zero arguments. I think we all just want to have a good road trip. Except(ยกเว้น) my dad, he has been away for 3 weeks, and he spent most of his time away travelling, and here again, travelling. I think he's just sick of travelling, but what else can he do?
We arrived to our destination(จุดหมายปลายทาง) just a few minutes before 6PM, we set of at 6AM, so it's about 12 hours drive actually. Still, no arguments occurred(เกิดขึ้น), this is unheard of for me, but it feels great!
We went to a local walking street, a local walking street "Gad Gong Ta"(กาดกองต้า). We had a long walk, my dad went inside a random house asking if he could use their toilet, my mom was tired so started acting like a 10 year-old baby, while my husband and I just enjoyed the market :)
So, my trick to stop arguments from starting...
Offer to pay the bill for everyones food! (Trust me it works)
If someone is in a bad mood, that mood will instantly disappear(หายไป), plus if they were in a mood with YOU, now that you've just paid for their bill, even if they hate you, they now have to pretend(เสแสร้งแกล้งเป็น) they love you haha!
